Responsibilities


GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Supply & Demand Planner ensures steady, efficient supply of important materials in support of all System-based hospitals and ambulatory sites as applicable. The role has accountability for stock levels, replenishment, integrity and customer engagement.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and maintains sufficient PPE and other material inventories to service system-wide demands and NY State requirements. Includes planning, timely orders, follow-up and expediting if needed.
  • Proactively engage with Materials Managers to recognize and forecast future materials demands. Utilize planning/purchasing tools to plan, purchase and maintain optimum inventory levels within the larger health system.
  • Improve processes and support similar efforts to standardize, reduce costs and find new revenue sources in support of the organization's key objectives.
  • Implement data entry or updates into inventory management system in timely manner.
  • Leads periodic and spot material audits for materials planning, reporting results and variances to targets. Forecast and track actual spend vs forecast and determine causals of variance. Implement corrective actions as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in supply chain, purchasing or materials planning preferred.

Required:

  • Strong service skills, including the ability to drive business execution
  • Proven customer-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet required deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with business acumen including warehousing and distribution operations, logistics, inventory management and accounting, supply-demand planning.
  • Encourage and model University (MELIORA) and Medical Center (iCARE) Values.
  • Average Microsoft Office suite proficiency, with strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical goods and practices.
  • APICS or equivalent preferred
