Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Technical Services Specialist in the Operating Room you will deliver high quality, patient centered care as you assist staff during operative and invasive procedures. You will ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures and act as a preceptor for other techs as needed. Our team supports each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will have the ability to first scrub Level III procedures (total joint replacements, complex orthopedic, neuro and spine procedures, peripheral vascular). Scrubbing a minimum of 3 of the 5 procedures.
  • You will be responsible for formulating nd updating protocols for specialty procedures.
  • You will work in conjunction with the RN service specialist, and be responsible for creating and updating existing preference cards on a regular basis and acts as a
  • liaison for the surgeons in the implementation of new products and equipment.
  • You will build relationships with sales reps to ensure proper equipment and supplies are available.
  • You will be responsible for managing new and existing instruments and supplies necessary for the specified specialty procedures.
  • You will Assist in coordinating repairs of specific equipment. In charge of creating and organizing specialty carts for the particular specialties.
  • You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well- stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment.

What qualifications you will need:

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent required. Must maintain required education and certification.
  • Completion of surgical technologist course preferred.
  • Two years of experience required.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
