THE OPPORTUNITY


The Investment Operations Team Leader is responsible for oversight and monitoring of the investment transaction queue ensuring that all transactions are being properly progressed and are completed efficiently by applicable deadlines. The Team Leader is also responsible for the training and development of the team members, including providing the Transaction Services Manager with evaluations of team members progression. The successful candidate will make use of available technology and systems to actively monitor team activities, transaction workflow, and adherence to policies and procedures. The Team Leader plays a key role in supporting new client onboarding, problem resolution, and training of team members.


RESPONSIBILITIES


· Supervise team activities and daily workflows by actively monitoring trade queues to ensure timely completion of trades and related processes while proactively seeking to identify potential timing or processing risks.

· Oversee client coverage assignments and proactively monitor volumes in order to ensure work is evenly distributed across the team and to effectively leverage capacity and anticipate potential bottlenecks.

· Work closely with the team to formalize processes and procedures, ensuring timely updates and ongoing adherence to policies as well as the escalation and resolution of exceptions.

· Collaborate with investment teams and Transaction Services Manager to resolve transaction issues, understanding underlying root causes and working to adjust processes and controls to mitigate future re-occurrence.

· Coordinate with Client On-Boarding and lead the onboarding process for new Transaction Services clients including required set-up of systems and ensuring that all required information is obtained and in good order by applicable deadlines.

· Proactively work with the team and technology to understand and prioritize technology needs and enhancements to support the continued growth and evolution of the business.

· Monitor liquidity tracker report requests ensuring that team members meet applicable deadlines.

· Monitor audit support package process ensuring that team members meet applicable deadlines.

· Oversee training of new staff in line with department standards and identify ongoing training and mentoring needs for experienced staff. Foster continuous learning, professional, and career development, and encourage a productive and inclusive work environment.

· Contribute to semi-annual performance review of individual team members.


QUALIFICATIONS


· Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and balance competing priorities.

· Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation skills preferred.

· Experience with alternative investments including hedge funds and private investment funds.

· Knowledge of trade order management systems.

· Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe.

· A team-orientated individual with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
