Background
At Netspend, we empower millions of customers every day. We are seeking a highly energized product specialist to help lead our team and products into the future. This is an important role that is new to the group and owns a key strategic growth area - Netspend’s digital platform capabilities.
Position Summary
As a Technical Product Manager at Netspend, your role is to drive the strategy and roadmap across the powerful Netspend financial ecosystem. Day to day, you will work with channels and partners to innovate and execute ideas across products and features. You ensure team collaboration, product vision, strategic direction and digital innovation across the enterprise.
This role is primarily responsible for leading the full API product lifecycle from API design and production by working closely with other stakeholders to come up with the optimal API strategy that delivers the most value back to the Netspend business.
This role is in the Product Technology organization and is tightly aligned with Product Solutioning, Product Management and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Work with the business, partners and technical teams to design, develop and launch new capabilities and enhancements to our customers
- Develop and execute the product strategy and business cases for platform capabilities and APIs enabling partner solutions and experiences
- Define product roadmaps including API frameworks, partner and user authentication standards, governance and regulatory standards, monitoring, sandbox, and developer documentation
- Develop product roadmap plans, release iterations and launch strategies in support of the overall product strategy by collaboratively working with internal stakeholders
- Work closely with the technology team to drive both technical vision and delivery of the product roadmap
- Understand strategic and competitive position in the marketplace through customer interaction and market research
- Perform competitive analysis to identify opportunities that support strategic and tactical recommendations
- Develop pricing strategy and operational framework for internal and external integrations
- Define, monitor and analyze metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive experience and integration improvements
- Help resolve business and technical challenges across the organization
- Be a leader in the company, providing the voice of the customer and contributing to the company’s overall strategy
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in financial services with a strong background in Product and Development disciplines
- At least 3 years of experience managing APIs, open platform capabilities and platform monetization
- Engineering background preferred, including prior success executing at a senior-level
- Prior success in launching APIs and platform capabilities at scale
- Experience with digital payments, transaction processing and Visa / Mastercard capabilities
- Strong love for clean design, user experience and keeping things simple
- Passionate about users and their feedback, both good and bad
- Strive to solve complex problems in a simple way
- Business savvy, but really a techie at heart

- Ability to travel up to 10% and work across teams worldwide
