Title: Technical Writer I and Technical Writer II

Company: Insight Global’s Managed Service Division supporting PG&E

Program: WMPTW – Wildfire Mitigation Planning, Technical Writing

Location: Hybrid –San Ramon, Ca 2 days/week in office and other days remote (confirming Tues/Weds or Weds/Thurs)

Pay rate: $55/hr for Tech Writer I and $60/hr for Tech Writer II

Duration: 6 Months – August 29th- Feb 28th, 2023, plus possible extensions

Must Haves:

Technical Writer I

• 3-8 years of Technical Writing Experience
• Completed Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Experience in regulatory filing or executive strategic writing; any regulatory type of writing or similar (healthcare, Life Sciences, Law, engineering)
• Experience working for a large corporation putting together documentation for regulatory filing
• Strong communication skills

Prior PG&E Experience (Preferred; not required)

Technical Writer II

• 8+ Years of Technical Writing Experience
• Completed Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Experience proofreading and editing peer tech writers' documentation
• Experience in regulatory filing or executive strategic writing
• Experience working for a large corporation putting together documentation for regulatory filing
• Strong communication skills

Prior PG&E Experience (Preferred; not required)

Day to Day: Our Managed Services Team is looking for strong Technical Writers! You will assist in documenting the client's enterprise Wildfire Mitigation Plan for submission to external stakeholders. You will work with the engineers and subject matter experts to document their plans and ideas and put these documents together for regulatory filing. You will use a template to gather the requirements from the team, take that information and reformulate it to help simplify it and put it into a more cohesive story. You will also work with management to edit and improve the content as needed. You will also be presenting your work, to help collaborate with the team on any edits or feedback, to make sure the narrative is cohesive.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
