Technician – Planning/Studies Job at Electrical Consultants, Inc.
Electrical Consultants, Inc., a leading power engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opening for an engineering technician to assist in the electrical planning/studies group. The engineering technician assists a team of engineers that develop a wide variety of electric system planning and design studies and analysis tasks that include AC and DC power systems from 120/240 volts up to 500 kV. This position has growth opportunity for an individual who is motivated and able to learn new skills. The successful candidate will work on a team led by experienced electrical engineers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to aiding electrical planning engineers, requesting/organizing/validating/updating study information related to multiple simultaneous projects, update planning task tracking tools, develop and maintaining electric system models, work with engineers to prepare narrative reports with charts and tables, and assists other staff as required.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma required and a 2 to 4-year college degree desired. College work in math and sciences is desirable but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel Outlook) required. The successful applicant must have the ability to learn complex tasks, be well organized and detail oriented. Effective writing/communication skills desired; knowledge of and/or ability to learn other computer software programs; the ability to learn technical concepts; problem-solving skills; the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously is a must; the ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed. Successful applicant must meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking.
