We have an opportunity for a Territory Sales Representative to join our Residential Water Treatment sales team, managing the south-central region. This business manufactures sustainable filtration / softening products and components to improve the quality of water for residential use. You will own your territory and promote Pentair’s products, sold through authorized distributors, primarily by interacting with dealers, installers, and distributor partners to create brand preference and expand current relationships. You will also create awareness of our products, effectively utilizing marketing programs and promotional material, leveraging field resources, and distributor & end-user product trainings.
This is a regional sales position and will require up to 75% travel (30-40% overnight) to customer sites primarily in South Texas, but also in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Ideal candidates will be in the Houston, San Antonio, or Austin, TX metro areas.
You will:
  • Manage and grow assigned Pentair businesses by identifying and nurturing new and existing key relationships with channel partners, including authorized distributors, dealers, and/or end-users.
  • Execute distribution and dealer sales strategies that increase top line revenue, augment Pentair filtration solutions specification, and improve return on sales.
  • Build relationships with key Dealers and user organizations to influence sales of Pentair products and services by holding regular technical presentations, training seminars, and providing on-site support.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference among our distributor partners.
  • Analyze customer specifications to determine proper product applications and/or accessories, provide expertise and recommend solutions to application and performance problems.
Key Qualifications:
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree.
  • Have 4+ years of experience in a professional outside sales role, including selling durable, manufactured products through a 2-step distributor or dealer network.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a customer relationship management (CRM) software for lead generation and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate multiple and varied kinds of relationships, both internally and externally to the organization.
Travel:
  • Up to 75% (with 30-40% being overnight) to dealers, distributors, customers, events, tradeshows, and other business-related meetings.
