We are looking for a detail-oriented truck dispatcher to dispatch our drivers to customer locations. In this role, your duties will include communicating with our customers to record their requirements, planning and adjusting routes, as well as scheduling drivers to deliver or collect freight, shipments, and packages. To ensure success, you should exhibit extensive experience in dispatching trucks and the ability to work under pressure and someone whose organizational skills translate into exceptional freight delivery services. This position will report directly to the Shipping and Receiving Manager.

Job Functions:

• Trailer load scheduling to ensure all customer requirements are met.
• Proactively communicate daily capacity needs/opportunities to appropriate leadership.
• Schedule and/or reschedule delivery appointments for all loads.
• Accept or decline loads based on direction from designated Logistics personnel and enter loads from customer tenders into the system.
• Provide backup support for load planning as needed.
• Work with designated department personnel to successfully dispatch loads.
• Identify pick up and delivery opportunities which assist in meeting customer needs and transport freight in a safe and timely manner.
• Monitor and report daily pick-ups and deliveries; anticipate, provide and facilitate problem resolution on all shipment issues in order to meet or exceed satisfaction of carriers, shippers and customer teams.
• Conduct follow up and update designated personnel and leadership on problem loads and actions that have been taken.
• Communicate with carriers, shippers and customer teams to ensure trucks are properly loaded and unloaded; provide detailed directions/instructions to carriers as needed. Update receivers and customers on load status as appropriate.
• Investigate product overage, shortage and damage; complete appropriate documentation.
• Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
• Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
• Planning predetermined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
• Preparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
• Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
• Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.
• Reviewing drivers’ logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
• Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints.
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• College Degree Preferred
• 5 years minimum experience in a management position
• 2+ years of experience in logistics
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to communicate in English is preferred
