Truck Driver Class A Job at Bret Achtenhagen's Seasonal Services
This Landscape Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently loading, securing, transporting and unloading various landscaping equipment, tools, plants, hardscape materials, topsoil, bark mulch and much more. Loads typically originate at our yard in Mukwonago or at our vendors’ locations. Loads will be transported to our clients’ sites all over southeastern Wisconsin. The Landscape Delivery Driver is responsible for:
- Providing safe and efficient transportation of equipment and products
- Ensuring the consistent delivery of quality products and services
- Supporting division managers with ensuring that all field production teams have the required equipment and products needed
- Supporting division managers with achieving set goals for quality, efficiency, time budgets, vehicle & equipment, maintenance and care and professionalism
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Meet with the Director of Landscape Installation Operations each morning to review the day’s delivery tasks
- Communicate with the Purchasing Manager to schedule daily deliveries, pickups and equipment moves
- Verify that all materials are in acceptable condition and meet Seasonal Services standards
- Make sure all paperwork accurately reflects any items that are on back order or cancelled
- Present all invoices; pick up tickets, bills of lading, shipping documents, etc. to the Purchasing Manager on a daily basis.
- Check your vehicle and trailer to make sure it is highway ready, has the appropriate chains, binders, straps, tarps and any other items that could possibly be needed to insure you can safely load, secure, transport and unload your cargo
- Make sure your vehicle, trailer and cargo are US DOT compliant at all times
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
Qualifications and Experience
- Class A CDL – Clean driving record is required! Open to Class B CDL but must be willing to get Class A.
- Must be able to operate all types of trucks, trailers, skid loaders, tractors, snow removal equipment and more
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work outside in the elements.
