We are seeking a full-time Ultrasound Tech to join our Radiology team! Qualified candidate will be certified in Ultrasound.
What You'll Need:
- A two year Allied health degree
- Completion of an AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology (or equivalent years of experience)
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology
- 3 to 6 months of on the job training is preferred.
- ARDMS registered and have passed the SPI test - Must obtain ARDMS certification in physics and one specialty within 12 months of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
What You'll Do:
- Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques. Perform ultrasound procedures, Doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, OB-/GYN procedures as required.
- Utilize accessory equipment such as selective transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.
- Archive and De-archive ultrasound data.
- Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required. Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures. Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.
- Ensure correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis.
- Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition/PACS at all times. (Physician’s name, date, explanation for limited examinations, contrast info, etc.)
- Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to PACS, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure
