The Opportunity:

Brookwood is seeking an experienced and well-organized Senior Vice President of Retail Operations to direct the operations of and oversee a future portfolio of liquor stores, with an anticipated concentration in
Florida. This role is best suited for hands-on candidates who have a proven track record growing a retail portfolio and is comfortable building teams and processes. The successful candidate will be a highly- motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative and faced-paced environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide management oversight to Regional, District, and Store Managers that encourages creative and critical thinking, taking responsibility for results, and challenges established industry norms to drive results;
  • Execute approved business models for new sites. Provide regular feedback to the executive team on progress, roadblocks, and successes;
  • Support new store integration efforts to ensure critical operational and functional information is gathered and subsequently disseminated to the appropriate departments;
  • Ensure team members are compliant with all governmental training and required operational protocols;
  • Review site, district, regional, and portfolio performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Provide monthly variance feedback that includes analysis of current performance and action plans for improvements;

  • Establish detailed business plans for underperforming sites. Regularly update the executive team on the progress of planned actions and make recommendations for appropriate modifications;
  • Develop initiatives to grow sales and profit through enhancing customer experiences, improving inventory management, providing consistent field training, and developing appropriate personnel incentives;
  • Establish, implement, and monitor cost control measures across the portfolio for all direct store operating expenses;
  • Optimize labor models to ensure stores are staffed efficiently and overtime hours are kept within budget;
  • Oversee maintenance teams to ensure projects and repairs are completed cost-efficiently and timely;
  • Be a champion of the company’s mission while promulgating a positive attitude, clear vision, owner’s mentality, and passion for success;
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results; and
  • Provide coaching, technical direction, training, and leadership support to team members to ensure financial results are recorded accurately and the team is sufficiently qualified to meet the demands and complexities of changing business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Minimum 10 years of retail operations experience with five years in a progressive or similar role;
  • Minimum five years of experience in the wine and spirits industry;
  • Strong financial acumen;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills; and
  • Willingness and ability to travel on a regular basis.
