As Vice President, Software Engineering, you will be a leader to help scale a high growth business via a Product delivery model with global teams. The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Assess the current state of technology and find key areas for quality improvement, integrate and optimize across existing stacks and create a plan for modernization.
- Structure the team for growth including domestic and offshore/nearshore resources, and build a sustainable engineering organization
- Execute across a robust roadmap to capitalize on the organization’s growth potential in the current and future addressable markets
- Creating and maintaining strategic roadmaps by working with internal stakeholders
- Creating, maintaining, and reviewing large budgets
- Review security adherence and promote best practice protocols.
- Provide technical and non-technical guidance and direction to management team members.
- Set and implement policies and procedures related to application quality standards and testing.
- Plan and accomplish goals by relying on your extensive experience and judgment.
- Ensure the development team leverages technologies that enable delivery of best-in-class product experiences.
- Leading teams of approximately 25-50 resources with 2-3 direct reports.
- Experience managing mid-sized technical staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
- Ability to think creatively and drive results.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least seven years of experience with applications development
- Strong database experience in writing and tuning stored procedures, defining roles, permissions, and security.
- Scaling web-based applications to millions of transactions per day
- Modern Web Services development experience
- Strong knowledge Amazon Web Services.
- Experience optimizing automating tests, builds and deployments
- 10+ years of experience in the defined technical areas.
- 7+ years management and strategic experience.
