Warehouse Supervisor - Primary Shift (3rd)
SUMMARY: Position exists to supervise and direct Receiving/Shipping warehouse employees and RC/DC office staff, as well as coordinate daily warehouse activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
➢ Supervise the unloading of inbound materials, the storage and retrieval of raw materials and finished goods, and the staging and loading of customer orders.
➢ Coach and train employees on care and preservation of items stored, how material is unloaded or shipped, and facilitate the certification and safe operation of all warehouse equipment.
➢ Train employees on the use of the warehouse management system including computers, scanners and printers
➢ Facilitate shift start-ups of warehouse staff, and manage time spent between departments
➢ Create work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow when appropriate.
➢ Develop, train, and maintain good working relationship with subordinate office staff and warehouse associates.
➢ Complete research to recommend improvements in processes and procedures.
➢ Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of work output.
➢ Review records to help ensure accuracy of information and compliance with established policies.
➢ Prepare reports, identify opportunities, and maintain records for Warehouse Managers.
➢ Have ability to multi-task and prioritize workload throughout each day.
➢ Responsible for maintaining harmony among warehouse employees and corrective actions following incidents; working to resolve problems as soon as they’re known.
➢ Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 15 to 25 hourly employees within the warehouse, and at least 2 salary non-exempt Warehouse Associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 4 years of work experience at a leadership role in a food warehouse environment; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees.

COMPUTER SKILLS: MS Office – including familiarity with Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with SAP or other warehouse management systems.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Can add, subtract, divide and have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights and cubic measurements.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and prioritize a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
