Web Designer

Brand Addition, a downtown St. Louis-based promotional marketing company, is looking for a Web Designer. This position involves designing custom ecommerce websites and web applications. You will work closely with our Web Developers to exceed our client’s expectations. You will need to be capable of providing direction on design input, site UX, and .NET development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain innovative responsive E-Commerce websites, employee intranet, and custom web applications.
• Provide expert level knowledge on design projects whether internal or external
• Assist with project management of timelines, hours and costs associated with tasks
• Create and maintain documentation regarding site customizations and functionality uniqueness
• Provide timely / consistent support to end users on a variety of issues via phone, email or trouble ticket regarding any site issues
• Content management including assisting with content writing, graphic design & email marketing
• Participate in implementation of projects, systems, & procedures to meet departmental goals
• Performs related duties as required
• Team member is required to be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.

Skill Sets

• Skilled in JavaScript/ jQuery, SASS/CSS, HTML5, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of design principles and best web practices (UI/UX)
• Strong Graphic Design Skills
• Working knowledge of distributed version control (Git)
• Strong understanding of web application development processes
• Strong documentation skills, ability to communicate effectively, team player in a small but diverse environment.
• Must be able to take initiative and succeed under pressure

• Responds well to direction, follows standard procedures and protocol
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, computer science or a related field
• 3 years minimum working knowledge of SASS/CSS, HTML5, JavaScript
• 2 years minimum experience with frontend development and design
• Experience with development /deployment practices
• Experience with and knowledge of commonly accepted business practices as they relate to development
