· Must possess a valid RN license, in good standing in accordance with laws of this state, from an approved NJ Nursing School of Nursing.
· Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
· Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED or at least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare field and/or related industry.
· Verifies daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary;
· Responsible for the coordination of total resident care;
· Must have knowledge of dietetic, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
· Must have knowledge of medications, their proper dosage and expected results.
· Collaborates with all charge nurses daily, to exchange information regarding resident care, resident condition and all matters affecting resident well-being (i.e. admissions, discharges, transfers, out of or within the building), makes recommendations regarding nursing process, and communicates concerns to supervisors of other departments;
· Makes rounds, morning and night, as time allows, to assess residents condition, giving special attention to critically ill residents;
· Ensures that the individual nursing care plan is followed for each resident;
· Performs medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed;
· Reinforces the training and orientation of nursing personnel and provides positive reinforcement;
· Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of resident condition or pronouncement of death);
· Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors;
· Assures that the building is secure during the evening and night hours by checking doors and alarms according to nursing facility protocols;
· Reviews incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness;
· Monitors meal service on the units and in the dining areas to identify issues requiring intervention and to assure resident meal satisfaction and nutritional adequacy;
· Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
· Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy;
· Report work related injuries and illnesses immediately to your supervisor;
· As a condition of employment, complete all assigned training and skills competency;
· Participate in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings;
· Fulfill responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plan;
· Assists with evacuation of residents in an emergency situation;
· Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information, including verbal, written and electronic communications;
· Report non-compliance with policies, procedures, regulations or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel;
· Protect residents from abuse, and cooperate with all investigations;
· Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator;
· Report any retaliation or discrimination to the Human Resource Director and the Compliance Officer;
· Fulfill individual responsibility to report any suspicion of a crime to law enforcement and the state agency;
· Performs other duties as requested.
· Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
· Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations.
· May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
