Terms of Employment: 260 day (year round) contract
Position Criteria:
Master's degree in Education, Business, Counseling, or Training and Development
Three or more years of related work-based learning teaching experience.
Familiarity with continuum of work-based learning programs and processes.
Experience and a solid foundation with online learning and content creation in learning management systems
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and CRM systems highly desired
Performance Criteria:
Communicate and collaborate with the School Improvement team regarding all aspects of work-based learning continuum and expansion of programming, including ICAP and DCAP planning and future work-based learning experiences.
Research the newest trends of industry and emerging markets, resulting in the development of new strands and/or pathways.
Support leadership with the APEX Advisory Board in the research and development of new APEX programming and ensure current APEX programming is trending with industry developments.
Support necessary legal and liability discussions concerning work-based learning practices and procedures.
Collaborate with the district communications team to support internal and external marketing and communication about work-based learning programming.
Collaborate in recruiting, screening and managing the implementation of professional development training for APEX students in their required development of professional skills.
Partner with staff to recruit, develop, retain and monitor business and industry partners that result in the following: curriculum input, guest speakers, guest instructors, mentorships, job shadows, informational interviews, internships, gifting of assets such as satellite space, equipment, etc.
Assist with the ongoing program review of effectiveness (i.e. collection of data, analysis, etc.).
Collaborate to recruit, and retain instructors.
Supervise guest instructors.
Help manage program CRM and active partner directory.
Handle day-to-day operations of WILC building including events, sub coverage, shuttle logistics, etc.
Support student discipline and counseling supervision in conjunction with home high school staff.
Determine and implement onboarding and ongoing professional development for work-based learning instructors and guest instructors based on instructional effectiveness assessments and technical needs of work-based learning curriculum (i.e. certifications, technical training, university level training, etc.).
Assist with instructional coaching to all work-based learning instructors resulting in professional-based instructional strategies and portfolio assessments.
Provide coaching and monitoring of all APEX Rapid Prototyping Curriculum teams to ensure all APEX curriculum meets or exceeds expectations in the following areas: problem-based, project-based, full immersion, authentic, rigorous projects, portfolio assessments, integrated credit, articulation agreements, collaborative projects across strands/pathways, cutting edge curriculum and technology, virtual educational opportunities, 21st century skills and integration of the Universal Constructs.
Assist the Director with parent communication strategies.
Manage the student body in the adherence to business ethics expectations (i.e. professionalism, HIPAA, dress code, etc.), attendance expectations, etc.
Manage and oversee academic achievement in collaboration with system processes (i.e. PowerSchool, high school transcript procedures, grading, withdrawal procedures, etc.)
Provide conflict management strategies to resolve issues with students, parents, and community.
Partner with high school counselors, parents, and students to provide guidance with scheduling for each student to ensure the work-based learning coursework meets the needs of the students’ interest, credit and schedule.
Plan, coordinate and facilitate visits by school districts, potential business partners, higher education institutions, government agencies, and other entities such as STEM-associated partnerships.
Attend business partner meetings with instructors to support coordination of partnerships.
Help organize and supervise in an administrative capacity evening events for the APEX program and WILC building such as Showcase, career fairs, Catalyst Awards, curriculum reviews, district events, etc.
Support management of an APEX Alumni group for the purposes of developing longitudinal data, enhancing university affiliations, expanding the mentoring/internship database, and ongoing gifting possibilities.
Provide students support with business partner letters of recommendations and other validation testimonials for freshman admissions officers and/or scholarship applications.
