Young Life Badger Metro (Dane County) is looking for an associate area director to oversee all WyldLife (middle school) ministry. This position would assist as a part of the Madison (Badger) Metro Area and Young Life team.

Currently we have WyldLife ministry in Middleton and Verona communities with a start up in Mt. Horeb. Each ministry has a unique feel based upon community size or distance from Madison. This position would be directly overseeing the part-time staff and volunteers connected to these ministries. Strong willingness and building of parent engagement is a must. Volunteer teams consist of local high school students, adults and college-age adults, with a strong Young Life College partnership. Dane County offers a beautiful outdoor culture with a wide range of activities and people.

We are seeking someone with a higher culture intelligence background as together these ministries reach a wide range of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. As a part of the larger Madison/ Badger Metro Area, this position would be working closely with other area directors throughout the high school and college levels of the ministry too.

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee direct ministry and leadership development for WyldLife across the metro. This includes but is not limited to club, leader recruiting/training, and area events/fundraisers.
  • Complete all national and local Young Life trainings.
  • Attend all metro staff meetings and regional meetings.
  • Be available every two to three summers to serve on a month-long camp assignment.
  • Expect to be on the WyldLife camp trip every summer.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with the community and volunteers.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • A metro-wide project/responsibility.
  • Learn to work with the committee to build local ministry and vision and advocate support.

Qualifications:

  • Clear experience in managing teams of people.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Spanish skills preferred.
  • Previous Young Life experience preferred.

  • Range of $10,000 - $30,000 annual commitment (training received).
