JOB SUMMARY:
Create a positive learning environment where children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, responsibility and other positive character traits.
SCGA Junior’s programs emphasize both player and youth development by providing a fun, safe and engaging community for players, parents and coaches. The coach is responsible for supporting golf practices and creating a welcoming environment. This position will be based out of Fairmount Golf
Course in Riverside, CA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Youth Coaching:
- Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents
- Teach sportsmanship, work ethic, responsibility and other positive character traits
- Manage equipment including practice set up and breakdown
- Ensure practices are fun, engaging and energized
- Follow a pre-set practice schedule of drills and exercises to teach fundamental skills
Other:
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by the management team

DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work well with children of various ages
- Willingness to learn and follow pre-set practice curriculum
- Must be outgoing and enjoy public speaking
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Golf experience is preferred, but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to utilize a golf club and demonstrate golf skills while teaching lessons. The employee is required to stand, walk or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently interacts with golf facility partners and is primarily supervising youth.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in both an office environment and outside, and the noise level varies depending on the location.
PAY:
Pay range is $16.50-$20/hour with the opportunity for a yearly raise.
