Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport (TPL)

The position is responsible for delivery of customer and Fixed Based Operator (FBO) services, to include direct management of the Temple Executive Air Center (TEAC), the FBO serving Temple-Draughon Miller Central Texas Regional Airport. This position includes oversight of all aspects of the FBO including customer relations, line operations, facility management, fuel sales, marketing, new business development, quality control, and environmental and safety compliance.

  • Effectively manage the FBO with an entrepreneurial mindset in accordance with the department policies and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining a customer service culture by ensuring all transient aircraft are met with courteous service, passengers and crews are assisted in a timely manner, fuel is provided in a safe and timely manner, and that outbound aircraft are assisted expediently and safely.
  • Oversee the financial management of the FBO’s gross margins, capital expenditures, budgeting, forecasting and revenue/expense management.
  • Provide overall direct supervision to customer service representatives and line service technicians, assisting in recruitment and the employee evaluation process.
  • Understand the market and growth opportunities for the FBO and present marketing recommendations to the Airport Director for growing the business.
  • Through working with other airports and city departments, be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the TEAC facilities and equipmen.t
  • Manage the fuel system including daily inventory monitoring, ordering and delivery management, assessing levels of inventory and making recommendations when additional capacity is needed, and ensuring that the storage and refueling trucks are properly maintained to ensure reliable performance.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to include fuel product offerings, selling points and discount programs.
  • Create new opportunities by developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with studies in aviation management or related field and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be able to pass an airport driver’s test.
  • FAA pilot certification is desirable.
