ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
- Fieldwork such as site inspections, water, wastewater, and soil sampling, treatment/remediation system design, drilling and contractor oversight, construction support services, and operations and maintenance;
- Conduct desktop and in-field engineering analyses of proposed and operable remedial systems to assure compliance with relevant documents and operational parameters (e.g. technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, etc.);
- Understand diverse permit language and conditions and determining if on-site systems are compliant;
- Water, wastewater, and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, scheduling, design calculations, and implementation;
- Perform multi-media sampling in support of compliance investigations, monitoring programs, and other data collection centric projects;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

- Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
- Fieldwork: Up to 90%
- Overnight travel: Up to 20%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, mechanical, or civil engineering with an environmental focus. (required)
- Advanced degree in an engineering discipline. (preferred)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)
- Ability to obtain professional engineering (P.E.) license registration as your career progresses. (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
- Prior internship, co-op position, or work experience related to environmental consulting. (preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication and technical writing skills. (required)
- Experience with ArcView, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Candidate must be able to pass an olfactory acuity test to fill this position.

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
- Minimum Salary: $64,480 / Maximum Salary: $77,505 (Santa Barbara, Ventura)
