We are looking for a remote Accounting Manager based in the Atlanta areato join our team in the growth of its supply chain people solutions business. We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on, results-driven individual with a positive attitude toward change. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and manage the Accounting functions of four (4) companies.
  • Manage two direct reports.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate execution of the month-end close, reporting and reconciliation cycle,
  • identification and implementation of necessary controls whereby ensuring the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP.
  • Month end closing expected to be completed within eight (8) business days of month end.
  • Weekly soft closes to facilitate management reporting.
  • Assist with external audit request and external income tax team requests to facilitate a timely audit and issuance of the tax returns.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly balance sheet reviews on four (4) companies, which includes a Canadian company.
  • Purchase accounting entries related to acquisitions or sale transactions.
  • Coaches’ direct reports to establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within the Accounting team, as well as internal/external customers.
  • Develop, train, manage and coach accounting staff by providing regular feedback and formal coaching as needed.
  • Prepare and review proper journal entries, account reconciliation and inter-company accounting transactions.
  • Work to improve accounting processes in the department.
  • Assist Corporate Finance team with weekly and month end analysis, as needed.
  • Assist Controller and CFO with reporting to Private Equity Investors.
  • Assist with integration of new systems.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited academic institution. A Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Management and CPA designation is a huge plus.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years as a Accounting Manager in a medium to large size company including 3+ years of management experience.
  • A solid foundation in accounting theory and GAAP accounting standards
  • Proficiency in top ERP accounting systems. Experience with Great Plains / Microsoft Dynamics is a huge plus.
  • Strong technological aptitude, including Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Critical thinking and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive individual with high level energy, self-direction and motivation, with a “get it done” approach and attitude
  • Ability to successfully work with all levels of the organization, from the executive team and the private equity firm to middle management, peers, and clerical staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaboration skills and strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented, positive mindset
  • Experience with Payroll and Workers Compensation in Canada is a plus.
