Adams County Fair Worker - Temporary-160953 Job at Adams County Colorado

The Adams County Fair is seeking several Temporary Fair Workers to, under the guidance of a supervisor, perform a limited range of labor tasks requiring light to medium physical effort, usually outdoors. The fair workers will clear trash and rubbish from roadways, sidewalks and buildings; unload and move equipment, furniture and supplies; fold and store tables after the show; sweep and clean buildings and any other duties assigned.
Work Schedules Available:
- Day Shift - Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Night Shift - Monday through Sunday, 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
There will be a mandatory meeting on July 11 from 9:00 am - Noon, and work will begin Monday, July 31st through Sunday, August 6th, 2023. Additional work may be available after August 6th depending on the Fair Crew team.
Work Location: Adams County Fairgrounds
- Event set-up and tear down.
- Cleans tables & chairs.
- Picks up litter.
- Cleans restrooms (both men and women are needed to clean respective restrooms while they are occupied).
- Sweeps and mops floors.
- Trash removal.
- Beverage and ice delivery.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Must have the ability to work with other Fair employees and the public.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establishes, maintains and fosters positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Experience: None required.
- Education and Training: None required.
- License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license. Applicants without a driver’s license will not be able to drive motorized vehicles and will be partnered with individuals with a valid driver’s license.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal (CBI) background check.
- Other: Must be at least 16 years of age. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
Special Requirements include the following essential duties, which require these physical abilities and work environment:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, and stoop.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions occurs on the job.
Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.
Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:
- Duration - 3 months or less
- Weekly Hours - Any
- Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
- Duration - Up to 12 months
- Weekly Hours - 29 or less hours
- Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the the medical plan for the employee and child(ren) only as well as the 457b deferred compensation plan:
- Duration - At least 3 months and up to 12 months
- Weekly Hours - 30 or more
- Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
