The Grand Healthcare System is in search of an Admission Coordinator to assist with a facility on Long Island.

Position Overview: The Admission Coordinator works to ensure the proper processing of admissions into our Longterm Care Facilities.

Admission Coordinator Duties Include:

• Ensuring prompt responses to all referrals.
• Interviewing residents/guardians, obtaining required admission information.
• Verifying & obtaining authorization from insurance companies.
• Interacting with hospital case managers, families & other departments related to admitting referrals.
• Collecting, assembling, checking, & filing admission paperwork. Forwarding to appropriate department as needed.
• Maintaining daily/monthly census reports, and resident waiting lists.
• Abstracting information from records as required for insurance companies.
• Reviewing room rates, billing procedures, visitor privileges, restrictions, care procedures, etc. to admissions/guardians.
• Referring admission problems to proper department (nursing, social services, etc.)
• Remaining current with Medicare/Medicaid regulations that govern facility admission & discharge requirements.
• Assisting business office personnel and other clerical duties as directed.

Admission Coordinator Requirements Include:

• Highschool degree or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Must be organized.
