You are invited to be an Affordable Connectivity Outreach Program Associate for the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System’s (PGCMLS) Federal Communications Commission (FCC) grant-funded Affordable Connectivity Outreach and Enrollment Program. The Affordable Connectivity Outreach Program Associate will present community outreach/enrollment sessions and digital literacy programs at locations throughout the county.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation of the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program to benefit residents of Prince George’s County that currently cannot afford broadband internet. The Program Coordinator will collaborate with agencies and organizations throughout the county to host information and enrollment sessions and attain grant program quotas for enrollment. The successful candidate will coordinate outreach activities with Technology Assistants and branch leadership in order to maximize Affordable Connectivity enrollment. Experience interacting with underserved populations and county residents whose household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to become familiar with all Affordable Connectivity Program provisions.
- Schedule, manage, and administer outreach/enrollment events and digital literacy programs throughout Prince George’s County.
- Coordinate technology support and instructional materials for all outreach events.
- Each quarter, discuss and evaluate ACP tactics with program coordinator and other program associates, and adjust, as necessary, to attain program’s enrollment goals.
- Develop relationships with schools, community agencies, organizations and institutions with aligned missions to create mutually beneficial involvement both within and outside of the branches.
- Provide professional development to branch staff on the provisions of Affordable Connectivity Program.
- Travel to various sites and centers throughout Prince George’s County and the region.
- Create and maintain office files and department records appropriately, including handling of confidential customer personally identifiable information (PII).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate degree in a related field and commensurate experience.

Expert computer and digital literacy skills.

Strong sales/customer service experience in which goals were set and attained.

Experience organizing community events in multiple locations provided free or for nominal cost.

Bilingual in English and a second language preferred.
- Strong sales/customer service experience in attaining quantifiable goals.
- Experience in program coordination.

- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people; and the ability to organize and juggle multiple tasks.
- Experience working with community-based groups.
- Experience using various mobile devices, mobile device management systems, tablets, laptops, computers, and cloud applications.
- Experience using Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, Skype, and Zoom.
- Liaise with internal departments/branches and work teams for program development and implementation.
- Understand the Prince George’s County community and library.
- Have strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Have commitment to community, public service, and providing exceptional customer service.

Ability to operate relevant computer systems including hardware and software, such as Microsoft Office, Google apps, electronic databases, e-mail, and internet navigation in addition to other office equipment and security systems.

Willingness to travel (usually within the county), approximately 50% of the time.

Constantly positions self to sit, walk, pull, push, bend and stoop; frequently moves or lifts up to 20 pounds.

This is a temporary, grant funded position through March 31, 2025.
