The Associate Network Engineer is responsible for reviewing, assessing and resolving daily technical operational support (Tier 1-2) network related incidents/outages and implementation of standard best practices changes and initiatives (internal or cross-functional) projects of AgFirst’s and Association’s network environment which includes switching (LAN & WLAN), routing (MPLS & SD WAN), network security (firewalls & NAC), load balancing, and converged network (Voice over IP) and network services (voice, video and data).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive daily resolution of network related incidents/outages, on-call process, system requests, and installation, configuration and management of network related hardware and software as per process and approved standard changes
  • Interface and coordinate with customers, vendors, program managers and IT, while supporting acceptance testing and troubleshooting
  • Monitor, alert, report and troubleshooting of network services (voice, video and data) to ensure secure, reliable, available and sustainable network environment
  • Assist in the analysis of network traffic, capacity planning, release management and development and implementation of network policies and procedures
  • Develop and update documentation such as operational playbook, hand-over transition, network design/topology, audit/compliance, and deployment working in conjunction with senior engineers

Requirements
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree
  • 2-5 years of comparable work experience
  • ITIL, CCNA, VoIP or other general industry certification is preferred
  • Extensive technical knowledge of WAN, WLAN, LAN, and network security technologies, to include protocols, router hardware and software
  • Good verbal, and written communication skills
  • Team player, customer focus, result-oriented and results oriented
  • An ability to analyze network related incidents/situations quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of networking elements and tools to diagnose and correct network services problems
  • Ability to navigate changes, innovate and collaborate within the team and cross-functional teams to achieve organization’s goals and objectives
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Project so ftware or a similar project management tool
  • Knowledge of personal computer programming, word processing, databases and spreadsheets
