Position Summary

The Automation DevOps Engineer works with a team of code developers to build templates, automate processes, and bring multi-cloud self-service to life for the RavenTek DCCO/DHS program. The Automation DevOps Engineer will work with technologies to automate CI/CD of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) in a cloud agnostic Azure/AWS environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Automation of CI/CD of IaC in a cloud agnostic Azure/AWS environment
• Build templates, assist in the automation process
• Work with multi-cloud IaC
• Development of processes within customer environment
• Collaborative teamwork, process development, documentation, and release
• Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following work day, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period
• Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.)
• Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 2 times per week, and respond accordingly
• Complete required compliance training as assigned by manager or human resources
• Other duties as assigned by Program Manager

Qualifications, Knowledge and Critical Skills

• Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Process development in a government environment
• Azure/AWS environment expertise
• Software Engineering/development

Education & Experience

• 5 years of experience in software engineering/development along with a bachelor’s degree
• 7-8 years of experience in software engineering/development lieu of a college degree

Work Environment

When working on-site, employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
