POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):


We are on a mission to grow Onitsuka Tiger’s North American team.


In 1949, Kihachiro Onitsuka established Onitsuka Co., Ltd. the forerunner of ASICS. The brand began with a commitment to promoting youth health, and since then, the Onitsuka Tiger stripes have become synonymous with one of the most world-renowned athletic brands. The legend lies on today in the fusion of Japanese heritage and modern flair. With designs ranging from updated classic silhouettes to refreshing new styles and collaborations with like-minded artists and cultural connoisseurs, the spirit of Japan resonates in each new collection of Onitsuka Tiger shoes, apparel and accessories.


The Business Analyst, Merchandising works in close partnership with the Merchandise Manager to ensure the Onitsuka Tiger Merchandising Principles are adhered to when building consumer right assortments for all levels of distribution for assigned accounts. This position supports the Merchandise Manager with creating the right assortment plans. He/she is also the liaison between Product Marketing and the Sales Organization, constantly ensuring consumer insight and trends are obtained from our key stakeholders.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (include titles of positions directly reporting to this position):

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position interacts with all levels throughout organization in Japan and North America including outside vendors

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Merchandise Manager in the monthly PO plan, SLT plan and any other special requests and review.
  • Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, seasonal, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Assist in managing daily Merchandising tasks, including: accurately maintaining line lists, reconciling and updating receipts, communicating with cross-functional team members in a timely manner, generating sales and inventory reports from product and inventory aspect to Onitsuka Tiger HQ Product/Commercial Department, etc.
  • Assist in the analysis of maintaining a proper balance between sales and inventory levels among channels, especially Marketplace, and execute inventory transfers between channels by producing master files ready for upload.
  • Assist in product allocation/replenishment analysis and strategy based on product performance and inventory levels, ensuring sales are optimized and maximizing MOH efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Onitsuka Tiger North America Retail/eCommerce/Wholesale member, assist in maintaining a proper balance between sales and inventory levels among channels.
  • Collaborating with Onitsuka Tiger North America logistics/operation specialist, assist with monitoring the product inventory status and delivery for each channel. With the direction of Merchandise Manager, conduct effective inventory transfer among each channel to avoid loss of sales and overstock/understock by keying them into the master system.

  • Excellent computer and MS Excel skills; ability to be self-reliant in spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts.
  • Strong sense of urgency, with a proven ability to be an independent, and self-motivated individual that can make well researched recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills from conceptualization and implementation to follow up.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to evaluate financial and business data into actionable insights to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, creative and time sensitive when faced with multiple demands and challenging deadlines
  • Must have strong relationship building and influence skills.
  • Resiliency to deal with ambiguity and lead through change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an international environment strongly preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
