Category Analyst Job at Koi Koi Trading
Job Duties:
- Providing business, customer, and marketing insights and competitor intelligence to support the development of category strategies, forecasts and performance reporting. track selling to original forecasts and generate and distribute comprehensive business recaps on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis (20% of time).
- Identifies and validates opportunities within a given category, market or division using category roles, competitive pricing, frequency reports, elasticity reports, market data and many other sources (10%).
- Rationalize and consolidate product lines to improve inventory turns and create volume cost improvement opportunities and manage multiple projects and initiative within assigned categories with the ability to meet defined timelines and provide proactive status communication to business partners (10% of time).
- Providing analytical and quantitative secondary research support to the business by accessing, verifying and organizing market trend, competitive intelligence and sales data using a variety of sources such as Data Warehouse, SPSS, or Microsoft Access (10%).
- Maintain purchasing pricing, sales price, and sales system information to ensure that performance reporting contains accurate information and maintain including pricing history and inventory and provide analysis to the sales team and manager team to support current and future forecasting (25% of time).
- Collaborates with merchandising team to develop and implement base pricing strategies, rules, and parameters and maintain monthly pricing with merchandising team for review and filing, maintain, update and review supplier price support schedules and assist with special projects and provide reporting and analysis (10% of time).
- Interpret trends and spot opportunities with sales team to improve monthly price increase/price decrease/new item report and highlight discounted items. Tracks results at end of each promotion in terms of sales, profit and share growth or contribution (5% of time)
- Verify all new item brand registrations and inquire into supplier product appointment letter files and ensure registrations are properly renewed (5% of time)
- Plans and executes data mining and trend analysis activities, which will include a strong focus on operations and sales studies to identify alternatives of doing business to improve business practices, efficiencies, and profitability (5% of time)
Requirement:
- Education requirements: bachelor’s or master’s degree in information studies, Information Analyst, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze raw data to draw actionable conclusions.
- Strong analytical, information & statistical skills. Must know retail math.
- Excellent communication clearly and concisely verbally and in writing, Mandarin speaking preferred.
- Ability to build and maintain complex excel spreadsheets with advanced formula knowledge.
- Proficiency in high level programming languages: R, Python, SQL, SPSS, SAS, etc.
- Proficiency in calculation and data mining with Microsoft Office Excel (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) or Google Sheet.
- Comfortable with working in excel daily and data mining to support broader team's goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Multi-task with the ability to change direction quickly and often.

Pay: $52,455.48 - $95,317.00 per year
