Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Communicable Disease Specialist Supervisor to join the Clayton Health District in Jonesboro, GA.

This is a GRANT FUNDED position and is subject to available grant funds.

Job Responsibilities:

Gather, analyzes and monitors data regarding communicable diseases within a health district. Ensures implementation of timely disease intervention strategies to decrease the prevalence of such diseases. Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.

  • Direct, monitor and track STD program activities utilizing the SendSS STD Case Management module.
  • Provide supervision to Communicable Disease Specialists and STD personnel to direct STD intervention activities.
  • Conduct staff performance audits to ensure quality performance, in accordance with the STD Office guidelines.
  • Document, review and report STD investigations and morbidity utilizing SendSS STD Case Management module and other case management tools according to timeframes established by the STD Office.
  • Compile and submit programmatic data reports, according to established guidelines.
  • Participate in conference calls, in-person meetings, and state sponsored meetings and trainings, and disseminate the information obtained to county health department STD staff; or assign a representative to participate in these activities if the supervisor cannot participate.
  • Maintain listing and report the number of patients attending community health fairs, school health education classes, or community service presentations, the number of educational materials distributed and the number of condoms distributed.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND Four years of experience in a related area OR Six years of experience in a medical related field OR Licensure as a registered nurse AND Three years of nursing experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Communicable Disease Spec 3 (HCP082) or position equivalent.
