Position Summary:

CFSB is seeking an experienced Digital Asset Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team. This position reports to the Bank’s Head of Financial Crimes. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and enhance the Bank’s digital asset financial crimes compliance control framework for onboarding, monitoring for suspicious and sanctioned activity, as well as ongoing compliance of the Bank's digital asset clients. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, managing a team of individuals, and managing relationships with clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for the Bank’s digital asset clients, ensuring compliance with corresponding regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry standards.
  • Conduct BSA/AML and Sanctions risk assessments to identify risks, mitigating controls, and develop action plans to mitigate identified gaps.
  • Review new and existing digital asset clients’ policies, procedures, controls, regulatory status, and ownership to assess their compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a team of transaction monitoring and sanctions screening analysts who will conduct periodic reviews of digital asset client accounts and transactional activity to determine if accounts are operating as expected or if potential suspicious and sanctioned activity exists.
  • Escalate potential issues to senior management and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure digital asset clients and services align with the bank's overall strategy.
  • Work closely with the bank's Settlement Services and Card operations, legal, compliance, third party risk, and IT departments to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Interact with external regulators and auditors, ensuring that the bank is meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in industry conferences and events to stay up to date on developments in the digital asset industry.
  • Provide training to bank employees on digital asset compliance and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience performing on-chain reviews utilizing commercially available digital asset monitoring tools provided by vendors such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Cipertrace, or equivalent.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management and compliance in the banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of digital asset products and services, including blockchain technology.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000
