Computer Specialist Job at SMX
SMX is seeking an entry level Computer User Support Specialist to work on a communications systems program supporting the National Guard Bureau Weapons of Mass Destruction communications systems. As a Computer Support Specialist, you will run SCAP/HBSS Scans on various DoD IT systems and infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will focus technology acumen on assisting cyber integration efforts for integration of both legacy and current state of the art technology supporting various Department of Defense (DoD) entities.
This position may require a non-standard work schedule and frequent travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create MS Office documentation to categorize and input Cyber findings
- Integrate cyber system devices with existing or future planned cable plant, network, or RF equipment
- Documents network routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications
- Running SCAP/HBSS Scans on various DoD IT systems and infrastructure components
- Knowledge of both wired and wireless network devices such as [but not limited to] network switches and routers, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and encryption devices
- Ability to follow guidance of designated team lead(s) to ensure team cohesion and mission success
Required Skills & Experience
- Required Clearance: DoD Secret clearance or ability obtain a DoD Secret
- Basic knowledge of data networking Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Basic knowledge of communications systems
- Ability to learn and implement various IT specialties using multiple vendor solutions
- Ability to follow specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment
Desired Skills/Experience
- 1-3 years computer support experience
- Technical knowledge in IT, cyber field, and computer programming
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of tools
