Confidential District Secretary Job at Glades County School District
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) High school diploma or equivalent.
(2) Two (2) years successful experience related to performance responsibilities of position.
(3) Computer proficiency.
(4) Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of basic math, and human resources procedures. Knowledge of computer software, office equipment, office practices and procedures. Ability to use office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with district and school personnel. Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills. Ability to perform heavy volume and highly accurate data entry. Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints. Ability to answer a telephone in a professional and courteous manner.

JOB GOAL
To perform a variety of secretarial, clerical and delegated administrative duties requiring considerable knowledge of the responsibilities and jurisdiction of the department.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery
*(1) Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
*(2) Answer telephones, route and make calls, record messages, answer questions and provide information.
*(3) Review and process new hires
*(4) Verify Years – of – Experience for new instructional personnel
*(5) Assist in the data entry of personnel action forms.
*(6) Compile salary verification forms and verification of employment requests
*(7) Prepare special reports as assigned
*(8) Validate pay rates against School Board approved salary schedules and pay according to bargaining unit agreements and School Board rules.
*(9) Assist the HR Director in preparing documents such as salary schedules and collective bargaining agreements to be used by the Superintendent and School Board prior to public disclosure.
*(10) Organize the office to facilitate an efficient operation.
*(11) Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

*Essential Performance Responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the district’s approved compensation plan.
248 day, 7 hours per day.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
