Are you seeking a position that gives you the opportunity to manage the construction process in a hands-on manner? Are you an individual who enjoys leading others in bringing architectural drawings from paper to the finished product? Do you want to have an integral role in making sure the vision is brought to life with high quality? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you with Thorndale Construction Services, Inc.
As a Traveling Superintendent, you will be working on new free standing and in line construction projects in the Midwest for retail and food service customers that are among the most well known in the United States. Projects can last from 3 to 7 months. Your role will be to manage the daily construction process onsite, schedule trades in an efficient manner, lead your team of subcontractors to a successful conclusion of the project. You will work closely with both the Project Manager and the customer as your progress continues forward.
We prefer that you have at least 3 years of experience as a superintendent or project manager, but we are also anxious to find those newly graduated construction management students who are seeking their first home. We will help those less experienced to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this position.

The Nuts and Bolts
- · Review architectural drawings to determine appropriate action needed by trades.
- · Coordinate workflow and schedules.
- · Analyze drawings to ensure all information needed to complete the project is included and make note of concerns.
- · Take action to make up for project delays
- · Review subcontractor work.
- · Prepare daily/weekly job site reports with photos.
- · Identify necessary change orders and communicate with project manager.
