Job Responsibilities:
- Assist management with important financial decisions
- Lead, motivate, and develop talent within the property accounting team including, but not limited to, immediate direct reports by coaching, counseling, engaging and evaluating performance
- Monitor a company's financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
- Perform data analysis and advise managers on ways to maximize profits
- Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of business
- Supervise employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports and budgets
- Monitor financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
- Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas
- Understand the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing
Job Qualifications:
- Valid CPA license
- 5-10 years of experience in a business financial setting, as well as managing a team
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting or finance from an accredited university is required.
- Experience in Multifamily real estate is Ideal
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations
- Basic math skills to make accurate calculations and estimates
- Good understanding of international finance
- Organization and project management
- Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
- Push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and reach above shoulders
- Must be able to type efficiently
