This position will perform high level technical controls programming, troubleshooting and updates/repairs on industrial food processing equipment at customers locations in the United States. This position must be willing to provide remote services 24/7/365 as requested, and be willing to travel to customer locations as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development of parts and service quotes. Uses advanced product line knowledge to help Application Engineering, Service and Customer Service create complex quotes for machines and parts/services.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform controls start-ups and/or trouble-shooting of food processing equipment, and/or for self or operator training. Perform controls audits as necessary. Ensures that project costs and schedules are met.
  • Create and review designs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, etc. and ensures that projects meet specifications, standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.
  • Meet with potential customers as needed by sales staff to determine needs along with recommending solutions.
  • Write processes, procedures and policies as required.
  • Broadly recognized as a technical leader and offer significant contributions to a variety of problems and/or projects. Regularly assigned ownership of multiple large projects with time sensitive completion schedules
  • Create functional OIT screens for operator interaction
  • Use Visual Basic & C++ to write application code
  • Write and/or modify PC or PLC programs to control industrial food processing equipment in Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens, others.
  • Prepare written information, documentation, reports, correspondence, procedures and/or specifications as required. Service call reports will be required for every customer visit.
  • Strong skill interaction with different databases.
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in electrical, controls, or mechatronics engineering
  • Expert knowledge of industrial electrical and automation controls, knowledge on instrument calibration, ladder and structure text coding knowledge
  • Experience desirable on Beckhoff PLC and HMI programming, Microsoft knowledge desirable
  • Experience with servodrives and VFD
  • Must be able to work in a plant environment to assist in the solving of customer equipment design issues
  • Must be able to work remotely to assist our customers in solving problems during after hours and weekends if necessary
