Controls Engineer - Inlet Job at Ovivo
SUMMARY
The Controls Engineer - Inlet, will be responsible for assisting with electrical and control system design of custom water treatment equipment as well as manage priorities across multiple projects and perform engineering and design work required to meet project requirements.
We are looking for a skilled individual that is excited to be a part of changing how the world views our most critical resource - Water.
HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Review all applicable job data, including plans and specifications, to determine project requirements.
- Provide technical support to shop and field start-up services assuming an average of 20-35% travel.
- Work closely with the project managers to establish project schedules, meet project deadlines, and control project engineering costs.
- Perform general engineering analysis and prepare required schematics, layouts, detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, software design documentation and PLC programs, with limited supervision.
- Document and update design procedures on a regular basis.
- Provides electrical and controls support to sales and marketing through specification reviews, cost estimates, sales drawings and calculations.
- Participate in innovation, product improvement, reliability and cost reduction projects.
- Perform all work in a safe manner, adhering to company and corporate policies.
- Other duties may be assigned as required or developed
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS WILL INCLUDE:
- Proficiency in ladder logic programming.
- Experience with commissioning/troubleshooting electrical control systems, including programmable logic controls, variable frequency drives, and associated equipment.
- Familiar with the National Electric Code and/or IEC standards.
- Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics, process flow diagrams, P&IDs and software design documents.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets complex industry related documents.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL POSSESS:
- B.S. in Engineering or a combination of relevant education and experience to design, manage and execute equipment control systems.
- 3+ years field or industrial full-time experience.
OTHER SKILLS THAT WILL SET YOU APART:
- 3+ years of experience in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical, control systems, or software for custom industrial equipment.
- Experience with PLC development environments such as: RSLogix5000, RSLogix500, Connected Components Workbench, Unity Pro, Simatic Step7, TIA Portal, Factory Talk View Studio, Red Lion Crimson 3.0, WinCC.
- Experience sizing electrical equipment and performing calculations.
- Electrical safety training including arc flash, short circuit, and other electrical analysis.
- Familiarity with UL508A requirements.
WILL I NEED TO TRAVEL:
Travel will be required and will be approximately 15-20%
