Overview:
Counselor positions are needed for the City of Mission Parks & Recreation Department this summer. Employment will run early June through early August (this includes training). Available positions within the Mission Summer Camp (Ages K-12 y/o). Shifts are scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm. Possible Number of positions: 14-20.

Salary:
Pay Range: $12 - $14 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be 16 years of age or older.

2. Must have job-related experience working with school-age children.

3. Must have the skill and ability to carry out the program activities.

4. Must have the capability to foster positive, healthy relationships with children.

5. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.

Job Duties, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Must have an understanding of age-appropriate activities and services.

2. Ensure the safety of the participants per MSC and KDHE operational guidelines.

3. Must have the ability to communicate clearly with all personnel, parents, and participants.

4. Must possess the skills and abilities to develop and implement the program activities.

5. Plan, schedule, program and implement programs and activities with Assistant Group Leaders.

6. Must have the ability to foster positive, healthy relationships with children or youth.

7. Attend all orientations and meetings.

8. Complete and turn in all assigned paper work on time.

9. Initiate, lead, and instruct activities for participants.

10. I 0. Know, follow, and enforce all discipline/behavior policies and procedures.

11. Adhere to medication policy.

12. I 2. Inspect and clean all designated program areas.

13. Maintain and care for equipment and facility.

14. Must consistently model professional demeanor.

15. Complete any other job duties as assigned.
