The Role
Job Summary
We have an immediate opening for a licensed architect or engineer to join our team as a Division Manager of Building Envelope assisting the Executive Vice President. We are looking for someone with 10 to 15 years’ experience related to building envelope inspection and restoration with a focus on high-rise/multi-family residential consulting to join our New York City, NYC location.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinates and manages internal kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings for projects.
- Coordinates Draftsmen for projects.
- Reviews the work of Senior Project Manager and Project Managers.
- Reviews fees, time, profitability, and invoice for projects which the Division Manager oversees.
- Verifies schedules, ensures adherence to project plans and timelines to be met by internal and external resources.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
- Works closely with teams to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline to ensure project success.
- Conducts on-site inspections and oversees team performing on-site inspections and documents existing conditions and performs field testing, photographing, the creation of hand sketches and to observe work in progress.
- Oversees team that:
- Records field measurements and performs calculations.
- Organizes field data to facilitate analysis and problem-solving.
- Maintains organized records, files, drawings, or other data essential to the project to ensure they are complete and stores appropriately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position will mostly be in the field on job sites but will also require time in the office to help prepare construction documents and reports.
Estimated salary range for this position is $165,000.00 to $190,000.00
The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. The salary offered will vary based on experience, education, skills, abilities, and certifications/license.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering or Architecture or Construction Management or relevant work experience.
Work Experience
- 10 to 15 years of experience, and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
- OSHA 10 hour certified preferred.
- QEWI Certified preferred.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to attend meetings and events, as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred; AutoCAD/ I.T. skills a plus.
- Ability to work individually or with team members and work collaboratively with other disciplines.
- Familiarity with AIA standard contract documents and forms.
- Familiarity with CSI MasterSpec specifications and specification writing.
- Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local areas as workload and projects require.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Professional report writing skills required.
- Ability to review code requirements required.
- Construction inspection skills required.
