Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Customer Service Representative for our Weatherford, TX facility. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager – Plastic Pipe & Conduit, this person will be responsible for handling all customer product pricing inquiries and orders, as well as following up with customers in a prompt and professional manner.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma with 3 - 5 years of experience working in a similar role preferably in a manufacturing or electrical customer service environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

  • Process orders, quotes, credits, returns applications and other requests
  • Communicate directly with customers or sales representatives either by telephone, electronically, or face to face
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints promptly
  • Answer basic technical inquiries
  • Direct advanced technical requests and other unresolved issues to the appropriate resource
  • Manage customer accounts
  • Respond and assist customers with damaged shipments and/or misshipments
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and outside vendors
  • Monitor product stocking levels and inventory turns
  • Review all product requirements and compile into efficient manufacturing schedules that optimize cost, customer service and machine utilization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you'll bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years business to business experience in a manufacturing or electrical customer service environment preferred
  • Experience in stock handling and inventory control preferred
  • Technical background preferred
  • Computer literacy and experience with Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage a variety of concurrent tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong initiative and adaptable to change
  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment
  • Need to be detail oriented and have safe work practice

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Minimize aged inventory and aged receivables
  • Collaborate with outside sales teams to identify areas of improvement

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Assist with challenging customer request and/or escalate issues as needed
  • Responsible for working with the outside sales team to identify and onboard new customers
