Job Description:

Primary Job Duties:

* Maintain Perl and Java code in data processing environment.

* Maintain SQL scripts and PL/SQL procedures.

* Maintain JSP scripts for basic web services Develop new programs/scripts as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

* A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Biology, or equivalent experience.

* Very good working knowledge of PERL (minimum 3-4 years)

* Highly proficient in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (minimum 3-4 years’ experience)

* Very good knowledge of Core Java (minimum 3 years working experience)

* Good understanding of Java EE (Servlets, JSP).

* Good knowledge of XML and JSON data formats.

* Good working knowledge of UNIX / Linux systems.

* Excellent communication / documentation skills.

* Familiarity with Bioinformatics tools is a plus.

* Preferably has experience with LSF - Load Sharing Facility.

* Experience with Agile Software Development process a plus.

* Must be detail oriented and a self-starter.

* Multi-tasking with good follow-through skills, good communication skills.

* Ability to work well in a team environment.

* Strong problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills using latest tools and technology.

* Ability to work alone and accomplish tasks without supervision.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalently technical disciplines.
• Applicant must have experience in AWS (architecture, tools, monitoring and security) or Azure (either Developer or Solutions Architect)
• Applicant must have experience in ETL processes and database operations
• Applicant must have proficiency in SQL
• Significant understanding of object-oriented design and programming.
• 5+ years’ experience of data development with Python, Redshift, and Spark (or equivalent technologies)
• Prior exposure to scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Perl, Bash) on Windows or Linux
• Experience, instincts, and enthusiasm around testing and testability
• Comfortable working with geographically distributed tea
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively document artifacts and processes then explain them to others
• Web Service design experience: Request/Response handling, authentication, REST APIs
• Experience with databases, database architecture, and best practices as it applies to both application and big data knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Cloud-based applications leveraging AWS is highly preferred
• Data modeling, design and database programming using a variety of relational (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, SQLLite) and No-SQL technologies (MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Neo4j)

Data integration, data analysis, data mining, and ETL technologies knowledge

• Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/XP)
• Knowledge of user interface frameworks such Vue, Angular, or React is a plus
• Backend programming and API construction utilizing PHP or Python

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $52.00 - $64.00 per hour
