Hourly Rate: $20.00
SUMMARY
Ensures safe, efficient, and proper operation of various pieces of heavy equipment and performs duties of a crusher plant laborer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The criteria for evaluation in this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, etc.
- Be familiar with and apply information from the manuals for the individual equipment being operated.
- Be familiar with the equipment and vehicle condition report.
- Communicate with Facility Manager/Foreperson as to the daily job specifications; operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Perform daily pre-operational safety inspection; note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete vehicle condition report, etc.
- Be aware of other equipment working at the location and coordinate to work with the other equipment.
- Leave mobile equipment in its designated place, properly chocked.
- Keep equipment clean. Clean equipment promotes safe operation, and enables the operator to inspect the equipment close range.
- When not operating equipment, performs duties of a crusher plant laborer.
- Ability to follow directions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrates a consistently strong safety performance and complies with MSHA, OSHA, and Company safety rules.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Individuals wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required for this position includes, but is not limited to: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, High Visibility Safety Apparel, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Respiratory Protection, Safety (hard toe) boots.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate sufficiently to be able to convey and exchange ideas and to give and to receive detailed verbal instructions.
