The DevOps System Integrator will be a member of the Software Defined Radio Integrated Product Team (IPT). The SDRS IPT engineers products for multiple government agencies, including the Office of Naval Research Future Naval Capabilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:I

  • Automates existing software builds into a mature CI/CD pipeline which implements repeatable builds and deployments including integration of industry best practices of built-in-quality and built-in-security
  • Participates in code reviews as both an author (of automation scripts and infrastructure as code solutions) and a reviewer
  • Supports the installation of GOTS, COTS and product specific software onto various computing devices
  • Provisions equipment for product test labs and field demonstrations
  • Assists with logistics for hardware related to field demonstrations, including inventory, packaging, shipping, tear down and rebuild before and after demo
  • Works with System Engineers to confirm and audit that hardware systems are provisioned in accordance with the system design model
  • Works with Cyber Security experts to make sure systems maintain a hardened security posture
  • Some travel may be required
Requirements:
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 8 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years or more years direct experience with:
    • System Integration with military systems or similar systems
    • DevOps
    • Linux software development environments
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and manage container-based software systems.
  • Excellent communications, organization, and analytical skills.
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with Linux container creation, management, security, and operations tools such as Docker, Singularity, Buildah, Podman, Kubernetes, Helm, Trivy, Clair
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Vagrant, and Terraform
  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems and System provisioning of physical machines, virtual machines, and edge devices
  • Experience Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools and solutions including systems such as Gitlab CI/CD, Make, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Nexus
  • Experience working on and Agile or Scrum team
  • Experience with one or more Scripting languages
  • Experience with Code Analysis tools and such as SonarQube and Fortify
  • Experience with standard Software Configuration Management tools and practices (Git, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience with standard government Cyber Security methods and tools (STIGs, ACAS scans)
  • Security+ certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
