JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain effective and efficient operation of the dietary department within Wyndham and to provide food service to residents associates in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet resident’s needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Dining Services Manager will:
- Daily operation of dining service account focused on providing "Premier" experiences for our residents, family members, fellow associates and managers.
- The financial responsibilities would include food cost control, labor cost control and fixed expense control. This person would also be responsible for tracking and accounting for all revenue systems and recording them in our financial operating system.
- This position also works directly with Life Enrichment to develop new innovative ways to serve the residents through creative programing.
- This person will connect with residents and families routinely and report back to the Wyndham Director and Dining Services Director monthly.
- This position requires catering, planning and creating “WOW” moments for small to large events. Including Executive Board Meetings and gathering.
- This position will also implement, enforce and follow up on a high standard of safety and sanitation.
- Oversee interviewing, on-boarding, and training of new employees.
- Performance reviews and follow up including when necessary progressive discipline as outlined in the employee handbook.
- This position is approximately +/-10% production and 90% administration depending on the functions during the week.
- CDM (UCRC) preferred but not required.
- Serve Safe Certification required.
- Continued In-Services as required by Federal, State and Local agencies for Assisted Living.
- Must have general computer knowledge focused on Microsoft applications.
- Kitchen knowledge as a Chef or Sous Chef and be able to pass a written and practical kitchen knowledge test.
- Catering experience desired
- Clinical dietary knowledge is necessary to understand the different resident diet needs as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- stand on hard surface flooring for long periods of time and be able to work up to 10 hour shifts or longer when needed.
- Reading and effective writing skills are also expected
- Experience should include both front and back of house.
- Management knowledge in the foodservice industry.
- Experience working in a senior living facility kitchen preferred.:
