Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Marketing at ASM New Orleans. This position oversees the marketing and public relations activities for Caesars Superdome, Smoothie King Center, Champions Square, and the Shrine on Airline, including event marketing, national publicity campaigns, advertising, and interactive marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts in creating strategies to increase ticket sales for events
  • Creates and supervises marketing plans for ticketed events and ASM Special Events to include all available services, public relations, media placement, promotional development, and non-profit opportunities.
  • Directs the public relations image of the facility. Establishes and maintains relationships with media, industry influencers, and key community and strategic partners as well as on all social media avenues.
  • Plan and manage public relations and internal communication programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image.
  • Manages and maintains ASM Global New Orleans’s corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage, both internally and with outside parties in partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Develops marketing materials and procedures to have the department function effectively as an in-house agency.
  • Develops the overall annual marketing plan and department budget as well as tracking and reporting.
  • Aggressively seeks new contacts and maintains working relationships with Saints & Pelicans, all media representatives, civic and industry organizations.
  • Recognizes opportunities to receive publicity from building operations, activities, awards/honors, etc., and share with local, regional, or national media and/or ASM Corporate.
  • Operates the department with a conscious commitment to maximizing exposure for the facility and its events through the most effective and efficient means possible.
  • Plans and oversee the facility’s advertising, promotion and publicity activities, including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
  • Remains current on national trends in the industry and local market changes that affect the facility.
  • Responsible for maintaining cutting-edge status on new ideas or technologies related to website, mobile apps, social media, advertising/media opportunities, promotional items and
  • Annually produce collateral such as marketing plan, year-end recap, year-end video and client parties, etc.
  • Evaluate current marketing efforts to ensure the greatest return on investments and the most efficient use of assets.
  • Oversee the Event Marketing Manager, Graphic Design Specialist, PR consultant, and other marketing staff.
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
  • Develops Marketing Team by providing information, educational opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities.
  • Act as Director on Duty for certain events.
  • All other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Managers, Assistants, or Coordinators in the Marketing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Successfully pass a driving record and criminal background check

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing preferred within a large concert arena or sports venue
  • 3 plus years supervisory experience
Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop and InDesign), MS Office software, and windows
  • Website maintenance and basic HTML knowledge needed
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet software, word processing software, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
