DSHS ALTSA Assisted Living Facility Licensor - Long Term Care Surveyor
The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration, Residential Care Services is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Assisted Living Facility Licensor. In this role, you will conduct state licensure inspections for assisted living facilities. This is an opportunity to facilitate appropriate care and support stability for vulnerable populations. Some of what you'll do:
Conduct full state licensure and revisit inspections along with complaint investigations as needed in assisted living facilities- Observe resident services and care, within the physical environment in which the services are provided
- Conduct interviews with residents, family members, and other community representatives to obtain information regarding satisfaction with the care and services provided
- Obtain information regarding residents’ care and services from observations, professional records, facility staff, and other sources
- Serve as the team coordinator for designated inspections which includes planning the inspection, coordinating team assignments, problem-solving, chairing team meetings, and communicating findings to the facility
- Travel throughout the region which will include some overnight stays.
- Knowledge of principles and practices in long term care services, social skills, time management skills, investigative and interviewing techniques, and report writing
- Ability to evaluate long term care services, interpret rules, and maintain effective working relationships
- Effective communication with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of this job
- Ability to maintain an objective, professional, and respectful demeanor in spite of difficult persons and events.
- Professionals with a master's degree in social work, speech pathology, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, special education, nutrition, sociology, or a related field AND two years of professional experience in planning, administering, licensing, monitoring, or delivering social or health or behavioral health service programs
- Professionals with a bachelor's degree in one of the above fields AND four years of professional experience in planning, administering, licensing, monitoring, or delivering social or health or behavioral health service programs
