General Description of the Job
The Assistant Director demonstrates leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a safe, positive learning environment at all times while succeeding the Somerset Academy Standard.

Specific Duties of the Job

• Acts in place of Director when the Director is away from the facility
• Understands and demonstrates knowledge in all areas of the Academy
• Handles all tours and phone calls when Director steps out
• Ensures all Somerset Academy standards and KDHE rules and regulations are being exceeded
• Acts as a lead teacher, an assistant teacher, a cook, a floater, a breaker, or an emergency sub
• Attends trainings and reports to Director
• Assists classroom teachers with policies and procedures
• Provides support to the Leadership team, mentors, classroom teachers, and support staff
• Will be flexible when the Director requires additional hours-may open or close when needed
• Confirms that lesson plans, curriculum binders, progress monitoring, and daily schedules are being upheld and correctly distributed
• Ensures all files are up to date and information is accurately presented
• Maintains clean and clutter free environments throughout the Academy
• Reports to the Discover Board

2. Knowledge of activities that stimulate young children
3. Knowledge of safety issues surround young children

9. Ability to plan and prioritize work
10. Ability to move and react quickly
11. Ability to research the needs of young children

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
