Mapes & Sprowl powered by UPG is looking for an Electrical Engineer based at our Elk Grove Village, IL location. Mapes & Sprowl is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, professionalism and strategic attention to our valued members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assure parts are in accordance with standards and compliance to in house quality requirements.
• Conduct special testing, analyze data, and prepare technical reports as directed.
• 40% hands-on tasks in a multi-disciplinary engineering role under Senior Engineering Supervision.
• Develop automated test station and support basic IOT initiatives
• Support engineering work functions and quality with root cause analyses.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited school.
• 2-5 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Proficient in design or willingness to learn to design and develop automated test station which will require programming experience for Electrical testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
• Good writing and communication skills.

Preferred requirements

• Proficient in design and develop automated test station which will require programming experience for Electrical testing.
• Understanding of magnetic theory and Knowledge of soft magnetic is a plus.
• FEA exposure or experience 2D.
• Knowledge of soft magnetic is a plus.

Travel Requirements - 10% Typically in the area
