Minimum Work Experience Requirement: At least 1 year working with children in a preschool
and/or school age program

Job Description:

The Enrichment and Athletics Coordinator will spend 20 hours per week in the coordinator role
and 16.25 hours per week in the role of Enrichment Supervisor position (refer to Enrichment
Supervisor Job Description for duties during this time). The Coordinator works in coordination
with the Enrichment and Athletics Director and is responsible for coordinating and assisting with
all programs associated with the department, including daily department logistics, aftercare, and
camp coordination, and administrative work. The position is year-round and requires a minimum
of 6 weeks of Summer Camp participation.

Essential Functions

1. Ensure playground safety and adequate supervision during the school day
2. Coordinate general staff and scheduling
3. Coordinate arrangements involving morning care, lunch, recess, carpool, and aftercare
4. Assist with Enrichment Class programming, implementation, and coordination
5. Assist with Athletics program programming, implementation, and coordination
6. Assist with all camp planning and implementation, including summer camps
7. Coordinate the hot lunch program
8. Handle arrangements and coordination for rainy day scheduling
9. Assist with booking substitutes
10. Organizes childcare during teacher workdays, open house, back to school nights and

conference days
11. Coordinate after school snack purchase and distribution
12. Oversee student discipline and Social/Emotional actions and conduct follow up
13. Engage in regular parent interface, including: reporting of incidents, updates, responses

to concerns, questions, and other matters pertaining to the children
14. Handle data entry, respond to emails, oversee calendaring and scheduling
15. Oversee all the licensing paperwork (students and teachers)
16. Oversee inventory and ordering
17. Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
This job operates in a childcare environment, both indoors and outdoors on campus. The
position will interact with preschool and school-aged children on a daily basis. Coordinator
may also escort students during camp field
trips during the year.

Physical Demands
Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 25 pounds frequently
  • Ability to balance, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, grip, and grasp occasionally
  • Ability to aid children needing assistance, including lifting and changing diapers
  • Perform repetitive motions such as: typing, moving, and manipulating computer
equipment
  • Ability to work in noisy environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt position, and hours will be spelled out in the employment contract.
Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover sta�ng during school hours.

Required Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience working with children in a preschool and/or school-age

program
  • 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units completed
  • Child development site supervisor permit preferred
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues via verbal
and written correspondence
  • Experience with planning and leading programs for groups of children
  • Experience coordinating multiple programs and staff simultaneously
  • Strong enthusiasm for working with children with a focus on enrichment initiatives
  • Ability to effectively engage and interact with children in a responsible and caring
manner
  • Must possess knowledge of developmental stages and age-appropriate activities for
students, including arts, crafts, and outdoor activities
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate with other school colleagues to facilitate a positive
and productive experience for staff and children.
  • Must have a patient and calm demeanor
  • Must be able to type e�ciently
  • Must be able to multi-task and works well under pressure
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and problem solve
  • Must be comfortable using basic computer systems, including email and G Suite/Google

Apps, Microsoft Suites, and ability to quickly learn additional applications

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to successfully pass State licensing and criminal background checks.
