Job description

Millesima USA, Leader fine wine merchant on Manhattan’s Upper East Side specialized in European wines, is seeking an Experienced Wine Buyer to join our growing business.

We were established in 2006 as the U.S. affiliate of Millesima S.A., Europe’s largest mail order and Internet retailer of fine wines. Since its creation in 1983, our parent company has grown to be the fifth largest purchaser of classified growth Bordeaux, serving over 57,000 private customers.

Responsibilities:

• Source wines on a daily basis
• Analyze market trends and competitive data to identify wine buying opportunities.
• Manage and measure progress and results of the wine selection against key targets.
• Manage sourcing of customers’ special orders.
• Maintain excellent distributor relationships.
• Organization of the weekly in store tasting (wine selection, price, communication).
• Gather initial content and text for products.
• Collaborate with Marketing Team and Sales Team to reach turnover and margin targets

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience is a previous similar position
• Exclellent wine knowledge is required ( a WSET3 or a Diploma will be a plus)
• Excellent knowledge of the three-tier system / allocation system / SLA rules / Main NY Wholesalers
• Candidate must be organized and possess strong communication skills.
• Candidate must demonstrate planning, priority setting, and the ability to implement projects.
• Must be comfortable with point-of-sale software, and Microsoft Office Suite, ie. Excel, Word.
• Candidate must be legally eligible for employment in the United States.

Position Details:

Full time commitment. Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
