GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Program Administrator, an employee of this class is responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of the building. This includes daily sanitation and general cleaning of the site as well as maintaining records of sanitization and refreshing stock of cleaning supplies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine duties such as: sweep, wash, dry mop and buff floors, clean dust and dirt from furnishings, clean bathrooms, equipment and fixtures and wash windows
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
- Maintains work area and uses equipment in a neat, clean, safe and orderly manner
- Lifts and or transfers work materials and equipment
- Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
- Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems. May be expected to drive individuals from vocational training site to outside contract work sites
- As required and with specialized training, drives an Agency vehicle
- Universal precautions must be used at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NYS Driver's License
